Affiliate disclosure

Some links on The Dog Dept. are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.

What that means

• Affiliate links and "Get code" buttons take you to the brand's own site, sometimes through a partner network that tracks the referral.
• Discount codes on this site may be affiliate codes. Using one can earn us a commission.
• The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link, and often lower if you use one of our codes.

What it doesn't mean

• Brands can't pay to be ranked or recommended.
• A commission never decides whether a product makes the cut. Our method is on How we research.
• If we ever run a paid placement, it will be clearly labeled "Sponsored" and kept apart from our picks.

Where you'll see it

A short disclosure sits near our recommendations and codes, and this page is linked from every page in the footer. This follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements.
